Sometimes we look at us in the mirror and we can't recognise who we are. Crisis are a knots of life in which we have the opportunity to fight and become better people or live in an everlasting adolescence.

In "The Last Kiss," we're introduced to Carlo (Stefano Accorsi), a thirty-year-old Italian whose life seems perfect to the average outsider. He has a well-paying job, steady income, and a girlfriend (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) who at a dinner party in the beginning of the film announces that she is with child. This sudden revelation throws many lives into disarray: of course there's Carlo, who along with many of his male buddies just isn't quite ready to accept the responsibilities of the adult world, which is made quite clear in scenes during which they stand on the edge of a waterfall shaking up beer bottles and denouncing marraige and parenthood. Carlo's mother (the great Italian actress Stefania Sandrelli) also finds herself reexamining her life in her middle-aged years: fearing that she has wasted her life with her reclusive husband, she seeks out a former lover, only to find that the untrodden road is now closed to her.
